Hi Joe.... you are the second person to ask to be left out of the Google Groups list. I really wish you guys had spoken up a month ago when we were discussing where the list should be moved. I'm going to cut and paste the reply I sent him so you will know more about what we are doing and why. I won't get to your name for several more days at the rate I am going so I will be sure to leave you out. However.... maybe Braddock can keep you up to speed on what is happening. See this below. BTW, how is the project going at Good Shepherd?
Note follows:
Unfortunately this list will go dark (inactive) in a week or two when the transfer is complete. Did you express this feeling about Google Groups when we were discussing where to move our list about a month ago? I was in favor of a site called "free lists . org" but the consensus seemed to be in favor of Google Groups and there were no negative comments. So, that is the way we went. The old mailing list had become a perfect target for junk mail from all over the world (which I had to deal with daily) hawking all sorts of schemes and frauds. It just seemed a good idea to have a fresh start. We have about 170 list members and at the rate of 10 a day, it will take me 13 more days to transfer the remaining 130 members. Google would only allow me to add 10 people when I started the list. I assumed that is for additional list members as well, but I may test it and move things along a little faster. We would be sorry to have you miss out on things, especially as we are exploring doing some new exciting things with our group (such as a bigger presence at SCaLE and sponsoring a Scratch Day LA in May).Do you have any friends on the list who can forward messages you might find interesting?Be sure to let me know if you change your mind... I guess you could also hunt for us, but I've never tried that.
CarylP.S. Google Groups is just a mailing list... it is not the same as Google+ which is a social media site sort of like Facebook. Being a member of one is in no way connected to being a member of the other.
