[Olpc-socal] FW: [SoaS] Sugar as a VM (OLPC Jamaica needs your help)

Hi Danny, Greg and all the rest of you olpc-SoCal folks,

Looking for someone who might be able to help out this person from the OLPC Jamaica project. He needs to run the latest Sugar (I assume he means the latest SoaS version... I'll try to clarify), preferably using VMware.

I know Danny in the San Fernando Valley has some experience with Sugar running as a VM on a Mac and Greg Dreshler up at UCSB also is an expert at using VMs on Macs. I don't know if he is using a Mac or PC in Jamaica (again, something to clarify). It they, or anyone else on this list can help, it's a great way to get involved in helping with one of our most successful smaller deployments.

Just send a response to Christopher Lee Murry (contacts listed below), and when/if you do, please send a copy to this list so we can all learn from your expertise!

P.S. I have an XO-1.75, at last! I hope to spend a lot of time putting it through its paces this summer as well as experimenting with alternate energy sources (the hand-crank does work with this model). I am still hoping to find an old treadle sewing machine to hook up. Wind power is another thing to explore and maybe water too.

 Greetings,
I, Christopher Lee Murray, am a part of the OLPC Jamaica project. Currently I work with Craig Perue and Adam Holt. Currently I have been assigned to get the latest sugar to work as a VM but so far am unable to. When I load the VM from the ISO it goes to the fedora live boot screen. I am inquiring any relevant advice or solution that may be provided that I may successfully run Sugar as a VM (preferably on VMware).
