Hi All -

Shaz Rasul of CUIP has organized an informal get together for people

interested in the One Laptop Per Child laptop called the XO. In the
past two weeks, there have been similar meetings at Google's Chicago
office and at Marie Murphy School in Wilmette's AVOCA school district.

We will be meeting in the technology conference room at the Center for
Urban School Improvement which is located on the second floor of
Chapin Hall at 1313 E. 60th Street from 9 AM - 12 PM on Tuesday,
February 12th. Parking is scarce, but there are a few public metered
spots behind Chapin. Bring a breakfast or snack item to share, and an
XO if you have one. You do not need to have one of these laptop
computers to participate.

The agenda will include:

a general overview of the OLPC project & the XO itself
an opportunity to experiment with several XO's on hand & the mesh networking,
a discussion of possible pilot programs in Chicago and general
implementation strategies/challenges,
a discussion of ways to get other people (at the University and at
CPS) involved,
and more...!
