the people here can see if they have the expertise/time/ability to help you?

PS: Chicago folks, we should have another get-together sometime soon -
perhaps an open-support session where people can give and get help with
their projects and laptops. Will send separate thread.

Sure. I know nothing about Linux. I am a mediocre user of Windows and Mac at
best. I would like the XO to do some basic things for me:
-Play media from an SD card
-Learn how to install programs that I am reading about to make the XO a
little easier to use (for example - Opera)
-If possible, would love to be able to use a program like GOTOMTPC to
connect to my home PC

There will be an informal meetup at Moraine Valley Community College this Saturday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. I will be introducing a few parents and their kids to the XO that morning. Everyone is welcome to drop by to mesh with us! I'll be happy to give an overview of OLPC and the XO and I will also attempt to answer any questions.
