H all,
I spent a few hours testing and have the following feedback that I thought
would be useful. I really loved the image, the control panel and some of the
other changes (like how Browse can now support a pop-up and the improved
ease of copying of stuff to the USB key!), so awesome job everyone!
- Suspend - it didn't appear to actually suspend, and ended up overheating
in my bag :)
- when connected to a network the circle isn't white, and as such not obvious
that you are connected.
- pippy apps (snow, pong) are taking a _long_ time to load
- Slideshow app in pippy doesn't work at all
- needs the journal on the application circle view somehow so that when an
app is open you can still easily find it (without having to open the
frame)
- mandarin doesn't work in speak or anything for that matter :)
- x20 - close and "keep" icons missing
- can't run actual swf files in browser, can only run embedded flash
- write app breaks content formatted when reopening saved stuff with defaults
- all other apps appeared to work fine, but haven't been able to test
collaboration as I need to get another developer key or two.
- Froze a few times, mainly when running Firefox (not Browse, I was testing
some content stuff).
Also, as VideoChat is part of what we wanted to demo for this trial, I am
paying someone to work on it over the weekend and hopefully get it up and
going. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
I have a trial of about 60 laptops that I have to set up on the 22nd
September, and I'm _really_ keen to use this image. Would it be at all
possible to get a signed image by then for normal XOs even though the actual
stable one won't be out for weeks later? I had originally planned my
timeline on the original launch date of the 17th September :/
Cheers,
Pia
