Very preliminary results of looking at the touchpad.

If I can interpret this O'scope properly, it looks like the touchpad is
sending bits in of order the right amount of time.

But I suspect the default rate of the touchpad is not what it should be:
http://www.computer-engineering.org/ps2mouse/ claims the default sample
rate should be 100 samples/second.  It can be as low as ten
samples/second, and since, IIRC, our touchpad sends more bytes (due to
the dual mode), that would put us in the right speed range, if it were
defaulting to its slowest speed.

So I suspect the next thing to do is to send the touchpad a "set sample
rate" command....
