Hi Michelle-

It sounds like the battery may have failed. There are software utilities you
can run
on the XO to make a more thorough diagnosis, but unless you think there
might be
something simple (like it's not inserted right) they're probably not worth
the effort.

Unfortunately, OLPC has not yet located a partner to service the retail
sales of spare
parts.

If you'd like, I'll let you know if I hear any further developments.
