Hi Richard,
I followed your instructions, and things seemed to go great…until I started following the bat-log. It basically went like this:
1199992649,0,6514800,9357,1923,81, Charging, Normal
1199992659,0,7507270,260,1928,81, Charging, Normal
1199992669,0, 7505440,130,1937,81, Charging, Normal
1199992679,0, 7504830,260,1937,81, Charging, Normal
1199992690,81, 7505440,260,1948,81, Charging, Normal
1199992700,81, 7504220,390,1948,81, Charging, Normal
1199992710,81, 7504830,130,1952,81, Charging, Normal
1199992720,97,6467830,260,1958,81, Full, Full
1199992730,97,6468440,0,1958,81, Full, Full
1199992741,97,6467830,0,1961,81, Full, Full
The above only took a few minutes. Five maybe? So, I unplugged, and it seemed to be behaving normally. E.g.
1199993475,93,5723020,-920442,2280,65251,Discharging,Full
1199993485,92,5716310,-921354,2282,65245,Discharging,Full
But then, after abot 10 minutes, at:
1199993698,91,5572350,-943691,2318….(I wasn’t writing quickly enough to get these last numbers – I haven’t figured out how to find the bat-log, so I was copying those numbers by hand)
I started getting the same error messages as I did when it couldn’t find the battery (because it wasn’t inserted)
I got a few more lines that looked normal, then another set of error messages associated with not being able to find the battery.
Then it shut down completely.
I plugged it back in, and the battery LED was orange and the icon on the homescreen said the battery was charging. I let it charge until the light went green, which again only took a few minutes. When I unplugged it, it ran for a minute or two then shut down again.
Any thoughts?
By the way, I sent an e-mail to service at laptopgiving.org on Jan 1, and got the initial confirmation that they received my e-mail, but nothing since. Should I also send something to help at laptop.org?
Thanks again,
Andy
