[olpc-help] Found Loose screw on motherboard now display wont turn on

Perhaps Richard Smith, one of the OLPC engineers, will chime in to help you out. There is a thread about units getting 'bricked' because the MB battery has come out. Symptoms sound similiar to yours, despite the fact that your battery didn't appear loose. (http://olpc.osuosl.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=429)
