[olpc-help] XO shuts down when power cord removed

Well, I followed the directions for the Activated Upgrade to build 653.  The upgrade went fine, but the computer still shuts down the instant I remove the power cord (or simply unplug the power cord from the wall).  Now, when I try to turn the computer on without the cord plugged in, I at least get the power light turning green and the the battery light blinking orange before everything goes dark (it still doesn't boot).  Note, when I remove the battery, the battery light does blink orange (once) upon re-insertion of the battery.

Any thoughts what might be up?
