[olpc-help] Can I mount a network drives

I did a yum install samba and fooled around trying to mount windows shares.  You wind up with a message saying that cifs filesystems are not supported (or smbfs depending on which you try).  I'm kind of a linux n00b, but I think that means that support for cifs is not included in the kernel.  

I suspect that it won't be, because it is proprietary, but I'd be interested in any updates.
