Yes. XOs are able to automatically backup their files to their local school server, there have been plans to let this be multi-staged. That would include a global 'cloud' backup system that was likely giving up access speed for cheap storage (since you will only use it to access rarely used files for the first time, like old school reports or similar). Future system updates will start strengthening the backup and distributed power of the laptop, from the signs of it.
