 I experienced this crash just now during my NiMH testing.  Just prior to
 the crash I was logging NiMH parameters from the EC and also running olpc-
 pwr-log.  As my test ended I stopped olpc-pwr-log and ended my minicom EC
 log.  Then in preparation for transit to twine I removed the battery and
 disconnected EC serial.  Got distracted by something else and left the
 unit there powered up.  When I returned sometime later I found the B1
 sitting there with LCD screen off but still powered on.  Keypresses did
 not restore the console on the LCD and pressing the power button to power
 it off had no effect.  Re-connecting the serial port confirmed that the EC
 was unresponsive.
