 I tested again last night with both the SKU-199 XO-1.75 running 12.1.0
 build 6 firmware Q4D08, and the SKU-203 XO-1.75 (the new membrane keyboard
 design) running 11.3.1 build 31 firmware Q4D05. After a full discharge
 both behaved identically in that the charging LED does not illuminate once
 mains power is reconnected. Only after booting the machines, does the LED
 light up orange to indicate active charging (LED illuminates towards the
 end of the boot cycle, in the last ~quarter of dots to be drawn around the
 XO).
