Comment(by Quozl):

 Since several organisations have a complete list of serial number and
 uuid, any hash based on them can be trivially converted back, simply by
 searching the list for the hash.

 Since a serial number and uuid does not identify a user, it already
 preserves user pseudonymity.

 To create anonymity we would require a value from the machine that is
 constant, unique across manufactured units, yet not captured during
 manufacturing.
