 Fixed by svn 1759.  The problem was that the new code to wait for enough
 power was being called after turning off the EC.  When the EC is off, you
 cannot ask it for the AC and  battery status!

 The "Recovery.pdf" attachment shows how to recover the machines that are
 "bricked" due to the problem in the above comment.
