 my B3 described in the previous comment (which i didn't mention is also
 without wireless) ran 2300 cycles before i killed it of:
 {{{
  while sleep 1; do echo $((i++)); echo mem > /sys/power/state; done
 }}}
 about half of which were with an autowack delay of 1000, the other half
 with 100.  i had
 a Terminal window running "tail -f /var/log/messages | tee /tmp/messages"
 to generate both screen and disk traffic at the same time.

 i've shortened the autowack delay to 20, and it's fine so far at a cycle
 count of 75.
