 I suspect that the lack of keyboard is fouling up my keyboard ID routine
 which has the Aux port (mouse) disabled during that period.  Don't quite
 understand why a reboot makes it work though. Must have something to do
 with that a software reboot the keyboard would not be re-probed.  Its only
 on power up via the power button.

 Load a EC serial port please and capture the EC log in both cases.
