 Fixed by http://dev.laptop.org/~wmb/q3a15i.rom

 The problem was some obscure FIFO tuning parameters in the graphics
 engine.  The OFW code to set them up was present in the driver, but got
 omitted from the code path to init the LCD panel during the heat-of-battle
 switch from the the primary display engine to the secondary one.
