#8855: US-International keyboard does not support a US official language

     Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: low | Milestone: Not Triaged
Component: keyboards | Version: not specified

The US-International keyboard lacks one glyph of having all of the glyphs
used by languages deemed "official" in one or more of the states of the
 United States.

The keyboard lacks okina and therefore does not support Hawaiian, an
official language in the state of Hawaii. I request that the file
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us be therefore modified (and the keytop
artwork changed, preferably) to assign alt-Gr+k and alt-GrK to the okina
 (0x10002BB).

(IMO, we might as well do this now, before we have an XO deployment that
needs to support native-speakers of Hawaiian.)
