 Agreed.  Activities need to be told that they are shared at time of
 launch.  This goes hand in hand with tickets which indicate that we need a
 way to launch activities within a shared scope (right now, this can't be
 done, so sharing has to come from within the activity).

 There's a balance to be struck here.  In most cases, the appropriate
 solution will be to present a UI, and then load the content (book, image,
 video, etc.)  The particular example that resulted in this ticket was
 XaoS, which it was speculated might actually be rendering a fractal in
 full before presenting any of the UI.  We need to make sure activity
 initialization doesn't block on this kind of work.
