Comment(by Eben):

For the record, the design has been adjusted (though not yet implemented)
such that the Home screen will become the launcher, and the currently
active activities will appear as places in the Frame. This makes the
frame a natural activity switcher/manager. In addition, the clipboard is
here, which will be essential for moving data between activities.
Likewise, the Frame indicates those who you are currently working with in
collaboration. Finally, all of the devices (battery, network, storage
devices, etc.) will appear in the frame as well, making it a quick and
 simple way to get status.

To round it all out, all of these categories will support notifications,
such that incoming invitations, people joining/leaving an activity, low
battery, and new clippings can become evident to the user via the
appearance of small icons in the corresponding corners of the screen.

Take these ideas into account when considering this interaction, because
we feel strongly that this motivates the Frame quite a bit, and will give
it much more purpose in normal interaction with the machine. I strongly
feel that it's important to keep the behavior of the Frame consistent on
all corners, since there's information on all edges and no way to state
that any of this is more important than the next. I'm OK with a custom
option for a delay that's off by default, ensuring that kids will discover
it quickly, but have the option to change it's behavior slightly depending
 on their desired behavior.
