 I don't think we're actually making any use of this name other than a
 visual one - as a nickname, basically.  It doesn't have any technical
 implications or matter for registration in any way, right?  Obviously
 there are a number of ways that having first/last name distinguished can
 be useful, but I'm not sure we have a use for them at present.

 Perhaps a better question to ask is if we will ever need such info.  We
 don't want to force the kids to wipe their identity once we actually do
 have need, do we?

 Either way, we may need to reconsider that design slightly for
 localization reasons.  I assume that the first/last split we're familiar
 with isn't the norm in all countries/cultures.
