A larger single school may have multiple web servers, and multiple backup
servers (and conceivably multiple cache servers) to name a few essential
services.
It is easy to get Avahi to announce services (a small utility program
exists for exactly this purpose), though this is also something I think
Apache will do today give an configuration directive. We should also
register them with our jabber presence service.
We'll need to revisit #2467 when we've done this so you can specify which
server to register with, along with Sugar exposing these services in the
mesh view somehow. But this isn't a V1.0 thing, at this date.
Please use this for design discussions; as we flesh this out, we'll sprout
trac items from this one to track individual enhancements needed.
