 Good catch!

 I think I understand what's going on:

 GTK+ presumes 96dpi, because that's what Windoze does, and I think Gecko
 also has to presume this as well.

 I betcha Gecko is doing its sizing computations presuming 96DPI
 for layout, and then scaling.

 So if text size looks good to you, forcing the browsers DPI to 96 is  "the
 right answer", even though the actual DPI is much higher.
