 I'm using now Kingston DataTraveler 2GB U3 smart, for 1 month (very
 extensive usage, I use it for OS development, so at least
 inserting+booting 10-20 times a day), and did not have any problem.

 The only difference is that I now plug a grounded usb hub into the right
 top usb port when the laptop is not connected to the power. No idea if
 it's related.
