 for me, one usb drive died plugging into the left port (below microphone
 and headphone jacks) and one into the right port (near camera). the usb
 ports on olpc all seem fine still ( i am still using usb keyboard plugged
 into the above mentioned ports). when my usb drives died, olpc was
 plugged-in as well, not on battery. i opened up one of the broken usb
 drives and did not see trace of physical demage/burn on the chips/circuit
 board.
