 If you want a fully relative representation like [5 months and 10 days
 ago, 2 years and 5 months ago] instead of something more generic like
 [Today, Yesterday, Two days ago, 20 Aug, 20/7/2005] then I don't think
 this should be in the public API. I can see some sense in a fully relative
 date representation for the journal but I don't think it's generally
 useful.
