Comment (by cscott):

 Discussed with eben:
  a) possibly flashing the three elements of the wireless icon
 individually, from top to bottom, to indicate wireless probing on channel
 1, 6, then 11.
  b) separate indication for 'stolen laptop', as opposed to 'activation not
 found'

 It may be that people are confused by the current 'activation not found'
 state and think that their laptop is just hung.
