I would be surprised if you see systematic failure of XO-1's
so early in their lifetime.  The NAND Flash used on XO-1s
is rated at 100K write cycles, unlike the 5K write cycles
(or worse) of the NAND Flash used in SD cards.
We've always seen occasional early-mortality failures, but
no pattern has emerged.
