G'day,
You were not subscribed to the mailing list, so I'm including your
e-mail address in my reply.
The child accessible controls are to enable or disable automatic power
management. That's all.
The expert accessible controls are in a configuration file, and these
are expected to be changed according to the requirements of a
deployment team.
You can experiment with these controls in Terminal by editing the file:
sudo gedit /etc/powerd/powerd.conf
The controls are described in the file.
You can find the defaults there as well, there's no sense in me
repeating them in this e-mail.
Take care in changing the controls, some values may generate unexpected
results. Also, changing the controls may invalidate some types of
testing, especially if the testing depends on the behaviour of the idle
suspend function.
