I used to use a 2Wire DSL Modem/router from circa 1997 until it finally
died a few months ago. In addition to providing my regular internet
connection, it was hooked up to the XS's eth0 and handed a
192.168.0.0/24range address to the XS. I have cheapo, simple Linksys
wifi APs on eth1,
which are a lot easier to work with because they don't try to be all smarty
pants.

If you're trying to use the 2Wire on eth1, you have to make sure that DHCP
is turned off. Otherwise networking is going to be all jacked up. You
want XOs to get their addresses from the XS, not the router.

An additional issue might be that the router is using its own address, not
an address from the XS. In the case of mine, that was 192.168.0.254.
You'll need to either assign the router an address in the XS's range or
tell it to automatically get an IP address from the XS.

When I troubleshoot various routers attached to eth1 on the XS, I basically
click around in the web GUI and make them as stupid and simple as possible.

Oh, check to make sure NAT is turned off, too.
