Hey Pauline,

Since you will be the lead for ESCAF I thought I would let you know
what happened yesterday when we went to meet and talk with the
students. Because ESCAF asked that we hold parellel tranings for both
kids and teachers, we used it as a time to ask the kids what they
would like to do with us during this time. There were MANY answers but
think they can be boiled down into two seperate clubs:

The Media Club and The Scratch Development Club

The Media Club
Many of the students said they want to make videos, take photos, draw
and write stories. We thought all of these would fit well under this
broad theme. The children can act as reporters or even share stories
of their families, or just draw a picture of the school, etc. there
are many ways to create a repository for this, but I think it might
even be good if at the end of the month something could be published
for the parents and community, or parents can come to the school for a
live presentation of each of the child's work. This is important
because the Headmaster was eager for ways to engage parents and local
community.

The Scratch Development Club
Almost all of the students said their favorite program was Scratch,
which I am sure is a product of your work during the camps. Many of
the students said that they wanted to learn more aabout Scratch and
use Scratch to create things like: stories, cartoons and program
games. Maybe you could work on creating one of each per month or
something.

what do you think? I have added the rest of the OLPC Learning Center
team for other comments.

Thanks
Julia
