Dear Laptops to Lesotho Participants & Supporters,

Here's a very insightful article about the importance of involving and supporting teachers in educational computer projects in developing nations:
Teachers, Teaching and ICTs: A Knowledge Map on Information & Communication Technologies in Education -http://www.infodev.org/articles/teachers-teaching-and-icts

Laptops to Lesotho has tried to implement most of the suggestions, with varied success. This is definitely food for thought and discussion about how we can improve what we are doing to help the teachers involved in L2L projects.

One thing I think is very important to note is that properly implementing computers in the classroom requires teachers to invest additional time, about 10% more. If we want computer technology projects to be successful in Lesotho's schools, we must find ways to compensate and reward teachers who make the effort.

Thank you for your continued support of our work,
