[Olpc-za] WiFi networks

Hi guys,
We have sponsorship to link 5 schools' computer classrooms, between Coffee
Bay and Hole in the Wall (on the Transkei Wild Coast), with a WiFi network.
The OLPC wiki recommends that the WiFi backbone be run on 802.11a (5GHz
spectrum) so as not to conflict with the 2,4GHz meshnet . . . and even if
we're not immediately earmarked for OLPC rollout - I'm still hopeful and
planning towards that eventuality. :-)
So my question is simply: what is the best equipment to use - and where can
I source it? What do you guys use for your projects at Meraka, Kobus? Or can
you refer me to someone on your team who can assist us?
I tried, without success, to get quotes on Mikrotik gear before Christmas...
but subsequent to that I started a new job and have been quite busy with
other stuff... and now it's getting pretty urgent.
I can't remember the names of all the people, apart from Miro, that I tried
to source pricing from... but they all act as if Mikrotik routing is a new
form of rocket science... and never came through with quotations. I would
prefer Mikrotik, personally, but will happily run with anything reliable.
Any advice & recommendations gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
