The wiki went down today b/c the virtual server that the squid was
running on (on weka) crashed? and had to be restarted. It would be
even more stable to have a few separate squids, not all on our
wireless, in a dns round-robin. Also, if weka is hosting critical
services we should be careful what are in the other virtual hosts on
it...

Since last month, lots of improvements have been made to service
hosting and infrastructure. I hope (as someone not savvy enough to
take part in the work, but only able to take part in some design
discussions) this can be followed up on to really make the setup and
distribution of servies across machines rock solid, including our
monitoring and other tools, so that we can check on any given week to
see that all pieces are in place / where they are in development, and
so that we have no single points of failure.

Thoughts? Michael suggests this could be done in three weeks with one
evening a week to move through the steps involved.

I'd also like to have some suitable place to schedule important future
updates, such as
 - an RT upgrade (quite a nicer interface)
 - a mailman upgrade (two important patches solving some of the
crossposting problems we have in spades)

the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
