The wiki went down today b/c the virtual server that the squid was<br>
running on (on weka) crashed? and had to be restarted. It would be<br>
even more stable to have a few separate squids, not all on our<br>
wireless, in a dns round-robin. Also, if weka is hosting critical<br>
services we should be careful what are in the other virtual hosts on<br>
it...<br>

Since last month, lots of improvements have been made to service<br>
hosting and infrastructure. I hope (as someone not savvy enough to<br>
take part in the work, but only able to take part in some design<br>
discussions) this can be followed up on to really make the setup and<br>
distribution of servies across machines rock solid, including our<br>
monitoring and other tools, so that we can check on any given week to<br>
see that all pieces are in place / where they are in development, and<br>
so that we have no single points of failure.<br>

Thoughts? Michael suggests this could be done in three weeks with one<br>
evening a week to move through the steps involved.<br>
<br>
I'd also like to have some suitable place to schedule important future<br>
updates, such as<br>
- an RT upgrade (quite a nicer interface)<br>
- a mailman upgrade (two important patches solving some of the<br>
crossposting problems we have in spades)<br>
