[Sur] TurtleArt versus Scratch

Brian Silverman wrote Turtle Art originally to explore ideas that were
eventually embodied into Scratch. But that doesn't mean that it
doesn't have value in its own right. I have found it more accessible
for young children--a nice place to start exploring some ideas, but
not every idea. It may make sense to make some extensions that expand
its reach, but I agree that we shouldn't rewrite Etoys or Scratch.
(Maybe it would make sense to rewrite Turtle Art inside of Etoys?) But
let's keep exploring ideas.
regards.
