Fail yung Intrepid sakin w/ Ridata Class 6 4GB.
re: alternate distros,
let's propose a project for testing and dev'ing alternate distros .
As you know from my posts sa devel lists, Journal has its failures
which render it unusable, and for people who are not small kids, XO OS
+ Sugar can be less efficient to use.
Let's make a proposal to do heavy testing of alternate distros. Like
maybe we can work with Teapot.
I'm in touch with DISCS at AdMU and they're done playing with the unit
I lent them na. I'll see if Doc Mana is interested in working with the
stuff Teapot has to make an extremely lightweight version of Ubuntu
optimized for the XO and that will maybe work on other UMPCs din.
Have gotten in touch with many other guys na rin, and the point I
raised is that ano ba talaga yung payload?
Content.
The XO is just a delivery mechanism. The important thing is to get a
proper curriculum working in tandem with DepEd and with the help
hopefully of the major universities and other institutions.
As you know rin naman, XO-1 is not going to be the only platform
forever. Like there's the proposed XO-2 which I think is going to be
focused on even better now.
Basta ako, I'm focusing on building apps and content that is
cross-platform, para maski ano mang gamiting laptop or what have you,
gagana.
This is an education project, not a laptop project.
I think we can spearhead a project/wiki din on how well different SD
Cards play well with the XO. That would help everyone a lot, and it's
pretty ideal for us to do it here in the Ph because we have access to
a very wide variety of SD Cards that are pretty cheap.
I'm probably dropping by Ortigas thursday afternoon or evening. You
work there, right Jerome? Can we meet up, maski punta ako sa office
niyo, mga 30mins lang?
Cheers
