Honestly I don't see any reason to do this mainstream as most of the
implementations are slow to begin with and doing anything web related
is just a terrible experience. Although using less resource intensive
apps like say Abiword, GCalc and stuff are usable.

Some cards really don't boot at all. I have a Sandisk 2GB and 4GB that
doesn't power up on boot so it doesn't work while a generic CD-R King
4GB Class 6 works flawlessly. Go figure.
