[olpc-nz] Fun with virtual machines

Hi all,
I have been playing around with Sugar on a Stick on virtual machine. I've
encountered a relatively strange behaviour. Tons of people I don't know
appeared in the neighbourhood view. Who are these people? Why is sugar
communicating with random strangers on the Internet? Is this safe, given
invitations can be sent to anyone? See screenshot.

Is this behavior normal?
