This event is legendary in its authenticity, if you have a chance to
attend below this weekend. Grittier and more delightfully curated urban
expression than even our May trip to Governors Island, that Hannah wrote
up @ http://blog.laptop.org/2010/06/18/figment-artsfest-in-new-york/ --
Please if you attend report back to the list here (and to

use in NYC and beyond!!
The 7th Annual Conflux Festival takes place this weekend, with over
75 artists creating participatory art and technology events at NYU's
Barney Building (34 Stuyvesant Street) and throughout the East Village.
Events kick off on Friday October 8th at 7pm with a keynote address
by legendary urban explorer Steve Duncan. The keynote address has
limited seating and tickets are going quickly. Reserve yours now!
Following the keynote on Friday night will be a party for
participants and attendees from 8 to 11pm featuring a performance by
award-winning new media collective Soundwalk. The Friday night party
is free to attend.
The Conflux Café (in the Barney Building) opens Saturday 10/09 and
Sunday 10/10 at noon. Here you can drop in on artist talks,
workshops, and performances; enjoy complimentary beverages and free
wifi; and track live updates of Conflux events presented by Artlog.
A day pass for the Café is $5 ($3 for students).
Outdoor events take place in the neighborhood and include art
installations, interactive performances, games, guided expeditions
and more. For detailed info and locations, stop by Conflux Café or
view the schedule online or at confluxfestival.org/mobile. Outdoor
events are free to attend.
Creative Time Summit + Conflux
