[Olpc-indonesia] Status of olpc-indonesia

Hi Octavius

Good to see that there are still people monitoring this list.

Please see below a query I sent to olpc-asia, and their response.

Is USD280 (Rp3,782,648) a reasonable price-point for a laptop/tablet for
Indonesian schools? Who would fund it? Would desas/kecamatan use their
budget to buy some for their schools, or would roads, health, water, etc
have higher priority? Would individuals/families buy it? Would donors, NGOs
or individual philanthropists pay for it? Are there other alternative
laptops/tablets that would be more cost effective in Indonesia?

I would be interested in what people¹s views are on how to realistically
implement Œkomputer masuk desa¹.

Regards

Eddie Ridwan
