[OLPC-DE] Wie man das aktuelle Softwarepaket

Hi,

seit July gibt es ein Betriebssystem-update für die XOs. Für den XO-1 
habe ich die englische Beschreibung des Installtionvorgangs aus dem Wiki 
von wiki.laptop.org angehängt.
Was ist jetzt mit dabei? Fedora 14, Sugar 0.92, GNOME 2.32
Damit könnt ihr dirket umschalten zwischen der Sugar Oberfläche und 
einer ganz normalen Linux Oberfläche (in diesem Fall Gnome).

Auf die 7 xo, die ich heute neu bespielt habe, ging das recht einfach:
- einen leeren USB stick (oder SD-Karte)
- zwei Dateien runterladen, eine davon unbenennen (60min)
- xo an das netzteilanschließen, Stick oder Karte einfügen
- Anschalten und rechts alle 4 Gametasten gleichzeitig drücken
- der Rest geht automatisch. (10min)

Viel Spaß beim Updaten!

wer seinen XO schon seit 2008 hat und noch Probleme mit dem Touchpad 
hat, sollte eventuell auch ein update vom Bios vornehmen.

How to install signed build 874 of release 11.2.0 on XO-1.

The build is installed to the internal NAND flash device. You will need 
a USB drive <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/USB_drive> or Secure Digital card 
<http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Secure_Digital_card> of at least 1 GB 
capacity, but only for the duration of the installation.

*ALL USER DATA WILL BE ERASED FROM THE LAPTOP!*

  * Prepare the USB or SD drive:
      o Download os874.img
        <http://download.laptop.org/xo-1/os/official/874/os874.img>,
      o Save the file to the top directory of the drive,
      o Download os874.img.fs.zip
        <http://download.laptop.org/xo-1/os/official/874/os874.img.fs.zip>,
      o Save the file to the top directory of the same drive,
      o Rename the file to fs.zip, (removing the os874.img part of the
        name),
      o Check that the drive contains at least the two files fs.zip and
        os874.img.

  * Prepare the laptop:
      o Make a copy of any data you wish to keep,
      o Check the battery is inserted and locked,
      o Check that the power cord is in place and the battery indicator
        is green,
      o Turn off <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Shutdown> the laptop, unless
        it is already off,
      o Insert the USB drive into any USB port on the laptop,

  * Start installing:
      o Hold down all four game keys (see this in pictures
        <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/USB_update#Let.27s_do_it.21_in_3_easy_steps>),

      o Turn on the laptop,
      o Wait for the message /Release the game keys to continue/,
      o Release the game keys.

Installation progress will be displayed. Green colour will fill yellow 
blocks. It will take about five minutes. Once finished, the laptop will 
reboot automatically. You may remove the USB or SD drive during or after 
the reboot. The USB or SD drive can be used on other laptops.

If you see a message /Boot failed/ then either:

  * the USB or SD drive has not been properly prepared, or;
  * the firmware is out of date and should be updated (see Firmware
    <http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Firmware>).
