Hallo nochmal :)

<Quozl> h01ger: the capacity value is stored by the firmware on the battery
itself, and will be inconsistent with the actual capacity if either (a) the
battery is faulty, (b) the battery is charged or discharged outside the XO
(or gang charger).
<Quozl> s/on the battery/on the battery chip in the battery case/
<Quozl> h01ger: the inconsistency can be reduced in situation (b) by doing a
few charge and discharge cycles. discharge to 89%, then charge until
charging stops, then repeat.
* h01ger nods + forwards
<h01ger> actually, i'll wait a few more minutes before doing so :)

<Quozl> h01ger: a more technical analysis can be done using the watch-battery
openfirmware command ... this displays the voltage and current ... if the
symptom is induced while watching these values, the user can potentially
determine a cause ... e.g. if the voltage is very low compared to a battery
that does not cause the symptom.
<h01ger> Quozl, thank you! your information sound very useful to me :)
<h01ger> are those on a wiki page somewhere yet?
<h01ger> ;)
<Quozl> h01ger: i expect so. i don't know where. i was just writing from
experience.
<h01ger> Quozl, "just" :)

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Battery_Charging hat noch ein paar mehr Infos und
