[OLPC.ch] Meeting OLPC-Austria and Planning of a Meeting of OLPC-Europe 1

Ciao

I was in Vienna and had the opportunity to meet some guys from OLPC-Austria and initiators of OLPC-Europe. We decided to organize a OLPC-Europe 1 (there is supposed to be another olpc-Europe group….???) IN SEPTEMBER.

 

There we oant to invite people

 

-          With technical background

-          Pedagogical background

-          Economic background

 

We have the Idea to open up the Idea of olpc! We think that OLPC- is a pedagogical movement and not a technological. For this reason we plan to implement sugar on different devices in order to being able to use all possible combinations of hard- and software for our pedagogical purposes.

 

We plan to reinforce the collaboration to a country where the OLPC movement already has pilots running and sustain them. We think that working tighter together as one organisation we hopefully can move things forward. 

OLPC-Nepal is a possible candidate to sustain. Many volunteers from Europe are already working there and could deliver important scalable data for the future.

 

We plan to work together with people for professional foundraising. 

 

We need people with technical, pedagogical AND economic Background to fullfill our goals.

 

More details about the meeting will follow, we are discussion to meet eather in Croatia or in Switzerland..
