Get the purpose right in what we hope to achieve in deployment small or large.
The key is "P" people. If teacher understand and allow the child to take the XO home then the child will have MORE time to explore by themselves. Adults facilitate interest and permission for exploration - e.g. if the child say I used the screw driver to open up the XO to see what is it inside and in the process break it HE/SHE should be "rewarded" for the learning intention, curosity and effort! Ask how will the teacher react to such an incident?
