I am happy to answer, but it is good to take advantage of the
cumulative wisdom present on that list and to share the discussion
with others.

For activities (Fructose and Honey) the strings may change from
version to version, Addition of new strings is announced on the
localization list.  Using Sugar Update will pull the latest version of
the activity, with the strings committed at the time the activity
developer created a new release.  Strings completed after a version
has been release can be updated by using the self-installing language
packs found at:

It is necessary for a language administrator to review and commit
completed PO files for them to be stored in the source repository and
picked up during the build process.  In between releases, language
packs can be used to update translations.

Important Note:
We need someone to act as language administrator for zh_CN.  Please
have one or more of your team request lang admin for zh_CN publically
on the localization list (giving their pootle username).

Yes, installing a minor version update will also install any strings
tha have changed (and been committed) at teh time that the release was
built)

Glucose (with no numbers) represents the strings present in the Sugar
0.95 development cycle, so yes ,you are already working on the strings
that will become Sugar 0.96.  At the moment that the Sugar 0.96 is
released the Sugar version number changes from 0.95 (development) to
0.96 (stable) and a Glucose 0.96 branch will be frozen in Pootle.  At
that point and going forward, Glucose (with no numbers) will represent
the strings of the 0.97 (development) version until the next stable
release 0.98.  Does that make sense?
