I share your concern. I am trying to find a way to get other folks to
help us test 

Perhaps I should just work on Sugarizing FF3 just enough so that it will
respond to close requests from the Sugar interface

We fixed that problem a couple of months ago. We basically tell firefox
to write the space that Rainbow allows it to.

We could probably do that for Gears as well but could be significantly
more complicated.
