[Localization] Sugar reference version

I'm testing my (Italian) translations on my G1G1 (plain- never updated) and on the Ubuntu 8.04 Sugar-package. 
In case of the XO I installed the nightly builds and .po files for activity.
For the package I just look of what comes out from official distribution. 

In either case seems to be that some translated strings got not picked up by the actual software (many more in the XO).
I suppose that's relate to misalign from releases of software. 
What it is the base line version I've to upgrade my XO in order to get the same version of the strings I'm translating on Pootle?
